For more than 28 years, the Ball-Chatham Food Pantry has been providing food assistance to needy families in Chatham and surrounding areas.
Chatham families are eligible for food orders up to four times a year. Families can receive pantry non-perishables including fruits, vegetables, soups, tuna, cold cereal, pasta, peanut butter, jelly and more. Purchased perishables include bananas, carrots, apples, potatoes, hamburger, loin pork chops and luncheon meat. Special orders are filled for specific dietary needs.
Donations of food items or money (checks can be made out to Ball-Chatham Food Pantry) are always appreciated and can be dropped off at the front office of Chatham Presbyterian Church, Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. If you require assistance, please contact the Ball Chatham Food Pantry at 217-697-4663
The Pantry was created and has been supported by Chatham area churches, including CPC, since its inception. In 2010, the Pantry became a ‘formal’ organization, applied for not-for-profit status with the state of Illinois and then was approved as tax exempt under federal law. The mission of the Pantry is to provide emergency grocery assistance to families who live within the Ball-Chatham School District.
